At Bionassay, we believe that beauty is more than skin deep—it’s about the journey, the stories, and the people who inspire us to care for ourselves with intention. This month, we are honored to highlight Vanessa, a holistic esthetician and the heart behind Pavitra Spa. At 51, Vanessa embodies a vibrant spirit and an ever-evolving outlook on life. She brings wisdom, compassion, and authenticity to everything she does—whether it’s guiding her clients toward healthier skincare choices, cheering on loved ones, or simply living each day with gratitude.
Vanessa has also been an integral part of our journey at Bionassay. She supported us very early on in the product development stage of our latest launch, offering her perspective and genuine passion for sustainable, effective skincare.
In this interview, Vanessa opens up about her personal journey, her philosophy on skincare and wellness, and the balance she has found in life.
Tell us about yourself – Who is Vanessa?
Today, at 51, I am still an evolving soul—thankfully filled with a strong desire and zest for life. I am always willing to learn and teach, with no intent other than pure love and growth. I am not the same version of myself that I was in my 20s, 30s, or even 40s.
I am a woman who loves her family deeply, with a passion for travel and exploring the “new” in life. My faith grounds me, and no matter the challenges, I feel blessed and strive to see the positive side. I hope to always be a beacon of light and hope for others—a cheerleader when needed, and someone who truly rejoices in the successes and blessings of those around me.
I feel deeply and am empathic, often reminding myself that it’s okay to protect my energy. I wear many hats: mother, wife, sister, aunt, friend, and esthetician business owner. I pride myself on always doing what is right, guided by my moral compass, regardless of social norms.
I believe in the power of meditation and nurturing a healthy mind, body, and spirit. I hope that through this life journey, I make a positive difference in the lives I touch. I love sharing healthier alternatives, as well as knowledge around skin health and menopause. Above all, I want everyone I meet to know they matter—and maybe, one day, think of me and smile.

How long have you been working in the esthetic industry?
I have been working in the esthetic industry for 11 years.
When did Pavitra Spa’s journey begin?
Pavitra Spa was born in 2015.
How important is sustainable skincare to you, and why?
Sustainable skincare is very important to me. As a holistic esthetician, I pride myself on looking at my clients as a whole. Over the years, I’ve become more self-aware of my footprint and its cause-and-effect on many levels. Supporting sustainable, non-toxic, organic skincare allows me to make a positive impact on the environment while empowering myself, my family, and my clients to make healthier choices. It’s one small but meaningful step in the right direction.
If you could only use 2 products for the rest of your life, what would they be?
If I could only choose two, I would immediately think of these: Vitamin A serum (better known as Retinaldehyde) and natural oils, with or without essential oils. While many might expect me to say a cleanser and SPF, for me, nourishing oils are essential. Some of my favorites include avocado, argan, rosehip, carrot seed, and chamomile.
Could you recommend a basic skincare routine for women who are always on the go?
I would tell women on the go to keep their routine flexible so it doesn’t feel like a stressor, but instead becomes a moment of kindness for themselves.
-
AM: Cleanse, hydrate, and apply SPF. If that’s all the time you have, it’s perfect.
-
PM: Cleanse, apply a serum, and hydrate.
Working with an esthetician can also help guide you with personalized knowledge and ease your mind about what your skin truly needs.
Could you share the secret to your balance in life?
As we age, our idea of balance shifts. I’ve learned to give myself grace—it won’t always go the way I plan, but it often works out even better.
With so many responsibilities to juggle, it’s important to know when to say no, when to let go, and how to set healthy boundaries. Life is like a scale—if too much is placed on one side, eventually it tips.
I remind myself that we are all souls having a human experience, and every journey is different. The lows help us appreciate the highs, and that’s the perspective I use to lead by example when it comes to balance.
At Bionassay, we are honored to share Vanessa’s wisdom and philosophy. Her words remind us that true beauty begins within, and that living with intention, compassion, and balance leaves a mark far deeper than skincare alone.
