Ingredient Description:

Sodium Hydroxide, or NaOH, is a synthetic mineral chemical substance derived and manufactured through the chemical process of brine electrolysis of sodium chloride solution.  Sodium Hydroxide is a highly alkaline ingredient that acts as a buffering agent that helps balance the pH levels of products, ensuring optimal results all the while preserving their active ingredients.[1] It can also serve as an excellent denaturant[2] that helps to break down dirt and other impurities from the skin! It's powerful stuff! Sodium Hydroxide in our formulas does not undergo animal testing.
